Trairi is a town and municipality located in the Brazilian State of Ceará. According to the historian Maria Pia de Sales, Trairi was born as village in 1608, with the arrival of Pitiguaras on the banks of the river Trairi.
Between the 16th century and the 17TH century, was still in the same situation. In the late 17TH doséculo, began to arrive from Portugal who settled, constituting families.
