Praia do Forte
One of the most popular destinations - road linking the Sergipe Bahia - Praia do Forte is only 14 miles but offers beauties to behold. Along the edge preserved, the frame consists of white sand, coconut trees, reefs and crystal clear sea filled with colorful schools. Around, the attractions are related to the environmental reserves and the ruins of the Castle Garcia d'Avila, the first Portuguese fortification in Brazilian territory.
Since the 80s, Praia do Forte houses the main base of the Tamar Project - responsible for studying and protecting sea turtles. Such action was essential to the preservation of the village that even busy in high season, maintains the pristine nature of the region.
In addition, the project site is one of the most interesting local attractions - the space has breeding tanks, aquariums and duty biologists to track the visit. Anyone in the area between the months of December and February still get a bonus - can participate in the exciting process of releasing newborn turtles into the sea.
Not by nature, however, lives Praia do Forte. In centrinho, closed to car traffic and baptized village, dozens of bars and funky restaurants, charming inns, crafts shops and jewelry stores take care of the avenue, the alleys and shoppingzinhos.
The glamor increases every season, but the beach is keen to preserve its rustic atmosphere and, therefore, does not give up the little white church by the sea, the land of streets, caiçaras houses and colorful fishing boats.
