Caucaia is a municipality in the state of Ceará that includes metropolitan area of Fortaleza about 1227.9 km² 6, equivalent to 0.83% of the state surface, with a population quota of 325 441 inhabitants and a population density of 265.04 inhab. / km².

Caucaia has 44 km of coastline, of which 28 km are part of the coastal Caucaia-Seat locations and the remaining 16 km belong to Guararu and Catuana district, inserted into the Protected Area Ambientaldo Rio Cauípe and Ecological Pecém Station.
