Camaçari is a county in the state of Bahia in Brazil. It is located 41 kilometers from the state capital, Salvador. In the communications industry, the city was the seat of the former TV Camaçari, which came online in 1993 and was affiliated with TV Cultura until February 20, 2009, when it occurred to closure because of various irregularities. In 2008, TV Aratu Camaçari, affiliated to the Brazilian Television System, was inaugurated in the city.
In sports, the city is home to the Camaçari Futebol Clube and Sport Club Camaçariense. In education, the city is home to a campus of the State University of Bahia (UNEB), the Federal Institute of Bahia (IFBA), the Metropolitan School of Camaçari (FAMEC) and aims to build a campus of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and the Catholic University of Salvador (UCSal).
The city is also home to the social program of Knowledge City, opened in March 22, 2007 and recognized as the most important center of learning and social inclusion of Bahia.
