Aldeota is an upscale suburb of the city of Fortaleza, Ceará. The toponym "aldeota" references the conglomeration of Indians who left the banks on the river Ceará to the source of the Pajeú Brook.
Located in the northern part of the city, with the East limits the rua Frei Mansueto and Judge Columbus Avenue Shah, West to rua João Cordeiro North Street Pereira Filgueiras and Dom Luis Avenue and South streets Beni de Carvalho and Father Francis. In the Aldeota is source of the Pajeú Brook the Colégio Militar de Fortaleza is one of the landmarks of the emergence of the occupation of the neighborhood, but that is not currently on their territory.
Has large and wooded avenues in which are several headquarters of major real estate companies, offices of various services, hospitals, dental and medical clinics, commercial centers and shopping malls, the most important being the Santos Dumont Avenue. The major malls in the neighborhood are the Mall Del Paseo, Aldeota Shopping Mall, Shopping Pátio Don Luis and the Shopping Avenue. Besides these there are the Shopping Center A, first shopping center of Ceará.
Fortaleza, with a population close to 2.55 million, is the 5th largest city in Brazil. The city is a big tourist destination for the domestic Brazilian market. Fortaleza has about 25 kilometres (16 mi) of urban beaches. From North to South, the urban beaches of Fortaleza are Iracema, Meireles, Mucuripe and Praia do Futuro.
